Celebrating 65 Remarkable Years: Ken Doyle's Legacy at Ross Care

Earlier this year, the Ross Care team came together at our Wallasey depot to bid farewell to a true legend – Ken Doyle. After serving the company with unwavering dedication for 65 years, Ken has chosen to embark on a well-deserved retirement.

Ken's journey with Ross Care began in 1957, a significant time when the company transitioned from electric milk floats to the renowned blue invalid cars offered by the NHS. Born in 1942, Ken witnessed the growth and evolution of Ross Care from its inception in 1949.

Over the years, Ken wore many hats at Ross Care, demonstrating his versatility and commitment. Starting as a 15-year-old, he serviced and repaired the blue invalidity cars. As the company ventured into wheelchair contracts, Ken seamlessly transitioned from workshop duties to fieldwork, becoming the company's first mobile service engineer. His dedication was unparalleled, being on call throughout the year to ensure our service users received top-notch service. As the company expanded, Ken's leadership shone through when he took on the role of a supervisor, eventually rising to become the Operations Manager, a position he held until 2007. Even as he decided to shift gears in 2007, he remained an invaluable asset, leveraging his vast experience to support complex modifications and part orders.

This event served as more than just a retirement party; it was a testament to Ross Care's positive work culture and dedication to its employees. Ken's journey with Ross Care is a shining example of the company's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering long-term relationships. The gratitude and respect shared by all present were clear, reflecting the positive culture and camaraderie that Ross Care champions.

In his 65-year-long journey, Ken not only witnessed but also contributed significantly to the company's growth. His expertise, nurturing personality, and unwavering commitment have left an indelible mark. As we celebrated Ken's illustrious career, we were also reminded of the supportive and positive environment which makes Ross Care a truly great place to work.

From all of us at Ross Care, we extend our deepest gratitude to Ken for his exceptional service. While he will be missed, his legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.
