Supporting Students to Employment at Ashton Sixth Form College

14th May 2019

On the 29th of April, Ross Care visited Ashton Sixth Form College in Ashton-Under-Lynne to conduct mock interview sessions with the sixth form students ahead of their graduation. This was an opportunity for the students to practice responding to a range of competency based interview questions and receive input and feedback from representatives of local businesses. The ultimate goal is to strengthen students likelihood to secure employment. Attended by Ross Care’s Human Resources Manager, Shirley Dempsey and Marketing Manager, Alastair Ronaldson, the students were interviewed under interview conditions and were asked a range of competency based questions.

Alastair Ronaldson said; 'We had a great time with both the students and the staff team at the Sixth Form College. Whilst we wanted the students to feel at ease, a realistic interview scenario was created to help students to increase their confidence and also develop and showcase their employability. Adding 'We were very impressed by the students we encountered and enjoyed hearing from them as well as passing on advice from our own experience'. 'We hope to continue to work in partnership with the college as they help students to transition into employment.'
