About Us

Making life easier

Originally formed as Ross Auto Engineering Ltd. in 1949, the company started out as a vehicle manufacturer. As we developed our electrical and mechanical engineering skills, we began to move away from industrial vehicles and milk floats and into the world of mobility.

As Ross Care, we quickly established ourselves as approved contractors in NHS Wheelchair Repair and currently supply – and provide maintenance for – mobility equipment used by over 80,000 customers through the NHS.

Alongside our services to NHS patients, we offer equipment and maintenance to rehabilitation services in the private sector, as well as the selling and loaning of products for residential use. From large apparatuses to smaller living aids, it is our mission to make daily life much easier for those who need it.

Whilst our store in Ellesmere Port is an accredited retailer for the dispensing of Community Equipment Prescriptions, our branches in Leeds and Sunderland operate Shopmobility services. From here, we can offer powered mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs for free usage around the White Rose and Bridges Shopping Centres.

I’d just like to say what a very efficient company you are running. Everybody I have dealt with in the last 3 to 4 weeks have been excellent. The equipment arrives on time, the drivers are friendly and courteous, and the telephone girls are extremely helpful. What a refreshing change it makes. Thank you.

Mrs. M Young

This is to confirm that the help I received from Ross Care this morning was excellent! I needed a replacement cover for an old bathlift and a very helpful lady searched the stock to find exactly what I needed. Thank you very much.

Mrs. J E Thropp, Beeston, Leeds

A great big thank you to the staff at Ellesmere Port, for finding the time to visit me at my house to assess me for a wheelchair. They were very helpful and patient, and they managed to find me a pink chair which also suited all of my needs! The whole process was very quick and easy to do. I use my chair every day during college and in social hours, and I wouldn't get far without it.
